Do you like taking photos of football players in action but always end up frustrated due to the blurry results? Then this tip might help you.
The difficulty in photographing action with a digital camera is caused by the delay between pressing the button and the actual capture of the image. This is due to the extra electronic processing that a digital camera needs to do in order to be “prepped” for exposure. If you are used to traditional film cameras, that do not require the same electronics, the picture taking process is much faster.
Following is a picture-taking technique that may help:
* If you’re in a situation when you can be reasonably sure of where your subject is going to be, you can pre-focus the camera for a correct exposure at that spot. Aim the camera at the desired spot and press the shutter button down half-way, then hold it there. This is called “focus lock,” and it tells the camera to focus on a specific point and hold that focus (as long as you continue holding the button) until you’re ready to actually take the picture.
